Rhino läuft auf normalen Windows Desktop- und Laptop-Computern, mit:

Hardware:

• Pentium, Celeron oder höherer Prozessor.
• 200 MB Speicherplatz.
• CD-/DVD-Laufwerk.
• 512 MB RAM. 1GB oder höher werden empfohlen.
• OpenGL Grafikkarte empfohlen.
• IntelliMouse empfohlen.
• 3D-Digitalisierer optional.
• 3D-Drucker optional.

Betriebssysteme:

• Rhino 4.0 läuft nur auf:
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows XP Pro
  • Windows XP Home
  • Windows Vista*
  • Windows 7*
    einschließlich Intel Mac mit BootCamp.
    *Erfordert Rhino 4.0 Service Release 7 oder neuer.
• Rhino 4.0 läuft nicht auf:
  • Windows NT
  • Windows 95
  • Windows 98
  • Windows ME
• Rhino 4.0 läuft als 32-Bit Applikation auf Windows x64. Natives Windows x64 wird nicht unterstützt und wird es auch nicht bis zur Version 5.0, die zur Zeit in Entwicklung ist.
• Rhino 4.0 läuft nicht nativ unter Mac OS X, ist aber in Entwicklung. Details...
• Rhino 4.0 läuft nicht nativ auf Linux oder anderen Betriebssystemen, die oben nicht genannt werden. 
• Virtualisierungssysteme wie VMWare und Parallels werden nicht empfohlen.
